NEWSLETTER SEPTEMBER 2026

We had another busy end to the academic year with our Moving On workshops delivered to Year 6 pupils in local junior and primary schools and team building as we supported students transitioning to Broadwater School at their Intake Day in July.

Activities Week

The first week of the school summer holiday saw us deliver another eagerly anticipated Summer Activities Programme where we took a minibus of young people out each day to a wide range of activities such as outward bounds, karting, bowling, and trips to Thorpe Park and Chichester Water Sports. We were, again, fully subscribed and the young people (and the team) had a fantastic week. Our thanks to the National Lottery ‘Awards for All’ for funding the programme again this year.

Churches Together Bandstand Service

The annual ecumenical open-air service was held on Sunday 9th August on yet another blazing hot day but with worshippers from churches across the town benefitting from the shade near the river where chairs were set up. Margot Spencer led the service with contributions from ministers and lay readers from a range of local churches with Andy Poulsom giving the children’s talk on Matthew 14: 22-33 when Jesus walked on the water.

Funding/fundraising

Andy visited several local churches in June and July, including Godalming Minster (St Peter and Paul and St Mark’s) Godalming United Church and Godalming Baptist Church to update on the ministries of TTT and to raise awareness of the financial challenges the charity is facing. Might you or someone you know have connections to relevant grant giving bodies or corporations that have a commitment to pledge funds to support the work of charities through CSR? If so, then please do get in touch with Andy so we might explore these potential channels (andy@trinitytrustteam.co.uk)

Regular Groups and Programmes

After time to meet, pray, plan and resource in the first week of September, our weekly groups and programmes are up and running, all are free, and children and young people can be signed up via our website! Note the change with FUSE and the new Youth Alpha being launched in partnership with the Minster Team from mid-September.

Team update:

Joe Evans joined us last year in a part-time capacity whilst working full-time at Challengers in Guildford. His new full-time post is at a residential provision for children in Woking (where Joe lives) that involves evening and night shifts, so, Joe could no longer continue with us. We wish Joe well in his new role.

Annette Davies has taken up a role as church administrator in Farnham where she lives, so has also left the team. We thank them both for the contribution they made to the ministries of TTT, especially Annette over the past four years leading our children’s groups and as our administrator.

Matt Blake has continued to deliver IT support from the Isle of Wight since he moved there after lockdown and will take on admin duties on an interim basis until we appoint a new administrator. Andy Poulsom was appointed Team Director on 01 September 2006, so, begins his twentieth year!

We welcome Steph Lucas onto the Management Team as a representative for Godalming Baptist Church where we have an office base and run groups in partnership with the team there.

Please pray:

  • Continued open doors to prosper the gospel locally in schools
  • For the right funding to support/grow our various ministries
  • For new/existing partnerships within local churches to flourish
  • For local young people to want to know Jesus and be transformed by him
